About Us

Welcoming friends and family into our home has always been a way of life for us,  so it seemed like a natural extension to expand our home and hospitality!  In the process, our lives have been "touched" and enriched by each of you.

“O that I had in the wilderness, a lodging place for travelers” – Jeremiah 9:2

My Dad said it best, “we just get touches on people’s lives”. He understood that connection is a gift that happens only in moments. We wanted a place that would be an extension to what gives meaning to our lives every day... shared stories, a place to unwind and be ourselves, a chance to return to simple pleasures, and re-engage our senses.

For us, it made perfect sense to transition our Historic property in Colebrook to welcome friends to experience what we love best about living and playing here. Our more than 40 years in the hospitality business has taken us to some of the most beautiful resorts in the country, but the opportunity to spend 21 years at the Balsams and to raise our sons in Colebrook, has cemented our love for the North Country and this extraordinary community that we call “home”.

Our Property

Original center staircase, hardwood floors, tin ceilings and stained glass window are reminiscent of the history of this former 1800’s boarding house and Episcopal rectory. Our vision was for a transformation that maintained all the former beauty while enhancing personal touches and luxury for a lodging experience that is inviting and memorable...

Over sized porcelain tile showers, down comforters, pillow top beds, separate sitting areas and personal coffee stations are just a few of the details we implemented to make it feel like your “home away from  home".
